What is your level of openness when it comes to coaching? Clients with the best success are open to change and have the ability to leave their rigid judgments of how things should be. Life Coaches must also be flexible and open to allowing the client to explore their own journey in their unique way without a strict structure. Find out more about the Big 5 Personality Traits as we discuss “Openness” in our latest podcast below.
If you want to become a life coach and wonder how you can help others, listen to our recent Soul Sessions podcast episode to explore how our unique Jungian coaching model is the future of coaching.
We all have experienced a resistance to change. We like our familiar habits and ways of doing things but there is also a part of us that wants something new.
In the Big Five Personality Test, one of the traits that is measured is Openness. In coaching, this is an important trait for both the coach and the client so that transformation can occur. If you are being too rigid and clinging to your old stories and judgments of others, there is little room for a new perspective.
As we step into the new year, how can you be more open to new experiences? Answer these coaching questions.
What do I want to change in my life that I am afraid to change?
How much time do I spend each week contemplating deep questions about life?
Am I quick to judge events as negative or can I approach them with more curiosity?
Openness is an important quality in coaching. The ability to explore new ideas, being less rigid and critical and more flexible in seeing yourself and the world differently can make a profound difference in your life.
