They discuss how this concept, rooted in Polynesian culture, relates to Jungian psychology and the process of Individuation. Learn about the dangers of Ego inflation, the importance of self-realization and how embracing one’s true Self can lead to a more meaningful life.
If you want to become a life coach and wonder how you can help others, listen to our recent JUNG ON PURPOSE podcast episode (previously named Soul Sessions) to explore how our unique Jungian coaching model is the future of coaching.
If you follow our work, you have most likely felt a hidden force within you, compelling you to move toward great things.
Jung taught us that the Mana Personality resides in the collective unconscious, an Archetype that presents outwardly as leader, healer, guru or guide. This Mana Personality is our spiritual power.
Early in life we project this power onto others; our parents, teachers and bosses. We don’t identify ourselves with this power. In other cases, some people will confuse their Mana Personality as their own identity. The Ego then becomes inflated and creates a dark shadow opposite of this power.
The process of Individuation helps us access our Mana Personality by allowing us to see our true selves beyond the masks of the Ego.
The first step to activate your Mana Personality is to accept your life up until now exactly as it is. That means no judgment of yourself or others; no regrets, grudges or resentments. Pure acceptance is difficult, but it is the only way you can be truly free.
The Ego is constantly trying to protect you based on past experiences. If you are directing your attention on fixing the past, you will continue to be in survival mode and letting your Ego run your life.
The Ego keeps us in a small perspective and the Mana Personality reveals our true potential.
