The Holiday Season is here and we’re all prepping and selecting the perfect gifts for our loved ones. We love to give gifts as a way to share our love.
We were taught, “It is better to give than to receive,” but is it truly?
A common theme in people who seek personal growth and higher spiritual knowledge is the resistance to actually receive.
There are many ways we receive:
- Love in a relationship
- Spending money on yourself
- Pursuing a dream
- Being heard, listened to and understood
- Feeling supported and taken care of when we need it
- Accepting compliments without dismissal
Our early life and family culture shaped our idea of giving and receiving, and the biggest impact was from our mother.
Carl Jung says that we were born with a Mother Archetype, a divine image that we project onto our human mother. It helps us create a bond with her, but also gives her an enormous influence over how we live as an adult.
One of the influences that our mother drives is our ability to feel worthy, to receive and to feel loved.
In the next episode of our JUNG ON PURPOSE podcast, “The Mother Archetype and the Art of Receiving,” we explore this primary relationship and primordial image in our psyche that drives our inner thoughts and feelings around feeling worthy of receiving.
We explore the concept of the Mother Archetype and its profound influence on our psyche and personal development. We share how this Archetype shapes our expectations and relationships, drawing connections to Eastern philosophy and non-dual consciousness.
In this episode, you’ll discover:
- How the Mother Archetype is a primordial pattern, influencing our perception of nurturing
- Why early experiences with mothers set a template for perceiving the world
- How Transforming inherited family patterns unlocks full potential
- Why Mother Archetype projects onto biographical mothers, shaping expectations
